Linda Haughey – Technical Services Manager
Linda was appointed to the new role of Technical Services Manager in 2011 following Richard Bawden, the former Technical Manager, being appointed as Fruitfed Supplies' National Manager. Linda has overall responsibility for crop monitoring, research and development, and IT technology developments.
Linda brings considerable scientific, technological and research expertise to the Technical Services Manager’s position where she works with the Technical and Crop Monitoring Services (CMS) teams. The Fruitfed Supplies Technical team is well-regarded for their independent testing and research of yet-to-be-released commercial crop protection products, analysis of research data and ability to share current research and product information with Fruitfed Supplies staff and clients.
Prior to this, Linda headed CMS, managing seven full-time and up to 50 seasonal staff. Originally working with Garth Davis, Linda was largely responsible for the initial development and implementation of Fruitfed Supplies' professional crop monitoring service. Linda’s role in CMS largely involved the development of monitoring methods and protocols for multiple crops nationally and was also involved in supporting industry bodies with the introduction and training of key IPM programmes. She also initiated and ran various IT-related projects such as developing a centalised pests and disease database Tracit, trialling and implementing the use of PDAs (hand-held computers) and tablet devices for CMS field staff and sales representatives.
Linda has an honours degree in agricultural and environmental science from University College Dublin and a certificate in practical farm management from Gurteen Agricultural College in Ireland. Her practical experience includes two years as a quarantine inspector at Ports of Auckland before joining Fruitfed Supplies.

Garth Davis - Product Manager: Ag-Chem
Based in the Hawke’s Bay, Garth has been with Fruitfed Supplies since 1980 when he started with the Hastings branch as a horticulture field representative. Promoted to Hastings branch manager, Garth then became the central region manager in 1998 where he is responsible for the business of five Fruitfed Supplies branches covering the East Coast of the North Island and across to the Central Plateau. In 2008, Garth took on a new role as the ag-chem product manager working with suppliers to identify the best new products for horticultural clients.
Garth was a key driver behind the introduction of the Crop Monitoring Services division, having observed growers’ increasing need for an independent, auditable pest and disease monitoring service. Garth also oversaw a historic shift in the company’s Hawke’s Bay presence, moving the Hastings branch from King Street to Stortford Lodge after 80 years at the old site. In addition to these responsibilities, Garth has been a trustee of the W&K Employee Benefit Plan, now known as the PGG Wrightson Employee Benefits Plan, since 2001.
